Jonas Michael Wagner It is with great sadness that the family of Jonas Michael Wagner announce his sudden passing Friday, June 11, 2021, at the age of 17. Jonas will be lovingly remembered by his parents, William (Bill) and Nancy Wagner; sister, Anna; grandmothers, Joyce Nelson and Barbara Wagner; uncles and aunts, Carla (Kevin) Regan, Susan (Dave) Stutz, Mark (Jennifer) Wagner, Terry (Judy) Nelson, Colleen (Steve) Moe, Mark (Carol) Nelson, Mike (Chris) Nelson; cousins Nathan, Aiden, Alea, Breck, Paige, Olivia, Jennifer, Eric, Kristen, Spencer, Andrew, Shannon, Chad, Erin, Tyler, Ryan, Rachel, Brandon, Cameron, Trenton and Kelli; and many other relatives and friends. Jonas is preceded in death by grandfathers, Romaine Nelson and William Wagner; uncle Timothy Nelson. His furry best friend Rio followed him to heaven. Jonas was active in soccer, hockey and more recently, volleyball. He loved playing tenor and alto sax in Eden Prairie High School jazz and marching bands, listening to classic rock music he couldn't believe his parents were cool enough to know, as well as each and every dog on the planet, his job sharpening skates, Star Wars Legos, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, watching action shows with the volume up too high, and relentlessly teasing his friends and family. He was born to be in water - a natural at swimming, boating, waterskiing, wakeboarding and staying on the tube no matter how hard Dad tried to dump him. He had a goofy sense of humor, and was affectionate with family and friends. He was intelligent, responsible, playful, confident, creative and willing to try new things. A stubborn know-it-all too - you know, just a normal teen. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Washburn-McReavy Eden Prairie Chapel, 7625 Mitchell Road. A funeral mass to celebrate Jonas's life will be held Thursday, June 24, at 11 a.m. at Pax Christi Catholic Community, 12100 Pioneer Trail in Eden Prairie. Masks optional. The funeral mass will also be live-streamed on paxchristi.com. Memorials preferred to Common Hope (commonhope.org), Eagle's Nest International (eaglesnestint.org), Fishing for Life (fishingforlife.org), SAVE (save.org) or charity of your choice.
