John Arthur Roehl Born: November 15, 1939, Minneapolis, MN Passed Away: December 23, 2024, Sauk Rapids, MN John Arthur Roehl, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on December 23, 2024. Born to Art and Elizabeth Roehl on November 15, 1939, in Minneapolis, MN, John attended St. Bridget and Patrick Henry High schools. After studying drafting at Dunwoody Institute, John began a career as a draftsman at Paper Calmenson (Pacal). His professional journey continued at Benoit, Inc. and later Diversifoam. John met Bonita "Bonnie" Valley at Pacal and they were married on April 28, 1962. They raised two daughters in Crystal, MN before moving to Anoka, MN. A man of many talents, John grew up with a passion for adventure, craftsmanship, and community. He loved dancing and many sports, from boating and fishing to skiing and biking. He found peace in the outdoors, enjoying canoeing in the BWCA and camping with family. His creativity extended into woodworking, gardening, and a natural aptitude for being an all-around handyman. John was deeply connected to his community and church. He volunteered at church, sang in several choirs, and was the President and active participant of the Twin Cities Model A Club, where he proudly restored and showcased his prized 1928 Model A. His family also, especially his grandchildren, brought immense joy to his life. John is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie, now of Sauk Rapids, MN; daughters, Coleen Roehl (Manuel) of Altadena, CA, and Donna Roehl Provo of Rice, MN; and grandchildren, Alex and Lucas Provo, and Isabel and Arianna de la Torre Roehl. He is also survived by his siblings, Cathy (Tom) Peterson and Jim (Maggie Ziegler) Roehl, and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Art and Elizabeth Roehl, and siblings, Marlene Beyer and Joanne Rietschel. A celebration of John's life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Anoka, MN. Visitation will be @10 am, Mass will be @11 am followed by a luncheon @12 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association. John's kindness, resourcefulness, humor, and love for life will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
