Joanne "Jonie" Margaret (Fudali) Toto

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved friend, sister, daughter, and mother, Joanne Margaret Toto (Fudali). Jonie passed away from cancer on June 19th, 2023, at the age of 59. Jonie was born on July 20th, 1963, in Minneapolis, weighing 4lb 8oz, and displayed her fighting spirit from her very first breath. She spent her childhood in St. Anthony, where her vibrant personality and thirst for knowledge blossomed. Jonie's curiosity was insatiable, and she was always eager to learn and explore the world around her. After marrying her love, Dave, Jonie began her journey as a dedicated wife and mother in Morgan Hill, California. She cherished her role as a mother and poured her heart into raising her two children, David and Dustin, with love, care, and unwavering support. Jonie's love extended beyond her immediate family, as she was a caring sister to James (Barb) and Susan, and a source of joy as a fun-loving aunt to numerous nephews and nieces. She moved back home to Minnesota with her family 11 years ago. Jonie's parents, Kay Kruse and James Fudali (Georgene), provided a loving foundation in her life and she shared a deep bond with them. She drew strength from their guidance and carried their values of compassion and kindness throughout her own journey. For over 25 years, Jonie dedicated herself to her work as a Paraeducator. Her passion for helping others, especially those in special education, touched the lives of countless students and families. Jonie's unwavering commitment to her profession was a testament to her selflessness and genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of those around her. In late 2022, Jonie was diagnosed with cancer, embarking on a courageous battle against the illness. Throughout her treatments, she displayed tremendous resilience and unwavering optimism, inspiring all who knew her. Despite her valiant efforts, her condition gradually worsened. On that fateful day, Jonie peacefully passed away, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. Those fortunate enough to have known Jonie will forever hold memories of her kind, compassionate nature, and her infectious sense of humor. She had a genuine zest for life and an innate ability to find joy in the simplest of moments. Jonie's love for her children, her dedication to special education, her adoration for her dogs, and her cherished time spent with family and friends will always be remembered. A service will be held to honor Jonie's life and provide comfort to her grieving family and close friends. Memorial service 11:00 AM Saturday, July 15 with gathering one hour prior at Washburn-McReavy Hillside Chapel, 2610 19th Ave NE, Minneapolis. Rest in peace, Jonie. Your legacy of love and kindness will endure, and you will be deeply missed and forever loved by all whose lives you touched.
