Jill Elizabeth Rinehart

Jill Elizabeth Rinehart (Zitka) died at home January 27, 2023 of complications from a recent diagnosis of multiple myeloma. Her unexpected departure leaves a hole in our hearts that will be hard to fill. She passed on and joined her parents and loved ones on her 57th birthday. Born in Cambridge, Minn. on January 27, 1966, Jill was raised in Deer River, Minn. with her three siblings. She grew up in a sports-minded family, played clarinet in band, and excelled academically. She met the love of her life, Rich, and they married and were blessed with two sons that she loved so much. With her family by her side, she continued to grow into the person we all knew and loved. Jill was deeply committed to education and volunteering with the Noble Elementary PTA, Mom's Club, the Food Shelf, and other causes. She was a fierce advocate for children and families in public schools, making herself known all throughout the district. She was a devoted Boy Scout mom, with never ending support for her sons. Jill also loved to bake. Many people loved her cookies, while others knew her as the brownie lady. She also loved to plant flowers under the window, that way she could always see them. At home, you could find Jill enjoying crocheting or reading a romance novel with the cat curled up in her lap. She was a connoisseur of Colorado Bulldogs. Even before kids of her own she loved being Auntie Jill. She will be deeply missed by all her nieces and nephews. Jill had a fun, outgoing nature and a sassy sense of humor that resulted in many fun memories we can look back on. Fiercely loyal and candid, she fought for her loved ones when they needed her. She made sacrifices and helped those in need without hesitation. Jill was a loving, caring, wild, crazy, compassionate, loyal, and supportive daughter, sister, wife, mom, auntie, friend and coworker. She will be deeply missed by all those who had the good fortune to know and love her. Jill was preceded in death by her father Donald, mother Gail, and nephew Ayden. She is survived in life by her husband Richard; sons Alexander and Charles; siblings William (Kris) Zitka, Thomas (Rickie) Zitka, and Anne (John) Nalan; and many loved nieces, nephews and in-laws. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 at Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven Chapel in Crystal. The memorial gathering begins at 1 p.m., and a celebration of life at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to your local food bank are appreciated and memoriums will be used for the Rinehart's college fund.
