Jenny Christine Bauer

Jenny C. Bauer Age 50, passed away February 27th at her home in Minneapolis due to a sudden medical event. Jenny was born on September 25th, 1973 at St. Cloud Hospital. She grew up in Cold Spring, graduating from ROCORI High School in 1992. Jenny attended nursing school, graduating from St. Cloud Technical College as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1995 and from Normandale Technical Community College as a Registered Nurse (Associate of Science) in 2000. Jenny pursued her education even further earning both her Bachelor of Science and her Master of Science in Nursing from Metropolitan State University in 2007 becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. Throughout her esteemed career Jenny provided outstanding and compassionate care at the Emergency Departments of North Memorial Medical Center, Abbott Northwestern Hospital and Fairview Southdale; Minute Clinic; and the Urgent Care Centers of EPPA and Park Nicollet. Jenny also served as adjunct faculty for St. Catherine's University supervising and evaluating Nurse Practitioner students at their clinical sites. She was a mentor to all she worked with. Jenny began to make her mark on this world in infancy. She was born with a headful of fire orange hair with colics in every directions. She was strong-willed, independent and determined - all characteristics that would help form the amazing adult she would become. Young Jenny was inquisitive and wanted to be involved. She was always ready to try something new and was quite the daredevil. Jenny preferred being outdoors, water skiing, swimming, cross-country skiing and playing with her siblings and friends. At age 10 Jenny won the under 12 division of the 26 kilometer Torger Tokle Tour cross-country ski race, which she decided to take on alone. During her later school-age years Jenny loved to push boundaries and test limits, always with a smile on her face. Some might even say she was a bit of a hellion, in complete contrast to the super responsible professional she would become. These years never prevented Jenny from cementing life-long friendships while she found her path. As an adult, Jenny was a fabulous friend, family member and co-worker. Her laugh was infectious. She was intelligent, loyal, caring, loving and kind. She could fix anything and was an excellent problem solver. One of Jenny's greatest gifts was her ability to listen. She made others feel safe and secure and calm in her presence. She was generous with her time, her skills, and her love. Jenny rarely withheld her opinion or the truth from anyone and somehow this rarely got her into trouble. She loved to travel. She enjoyed good food, good drink and many genres of music. She loved to sing and dance even though she knew she did neither very well. She enjoyed motorcycling, mountain biking, jet-sking, hiking, blackjack and bingo. Jenny also loved animals. She fostered and adopted many rescue dogs, loving and caring for each of them with the utmost compassion. The loss of Jenny has been a devastating blow for the many people whose lives were positively influenced just by knowing her, let alone being loved by her. Jenny is survived by her Father: Frank Bauer(Mary) Richmond; Siblings: Ron(Julie) New Braunfels,TX; Greta Bauer(Nicole) Minneapolis; Laura Smith(Paul) Buckman; Nieces: Freya Bauer(Brian) Vancouver, BC; Cassondra Kutzner(Brent) Monticello; Nephews: Aeric Bauer, New Braunfels, TX; Jonah Smith, Buckman; Great-Nieces/Nephew: Gaby, Eva, Hudson, Hadley Kutzner (Monticello); Rescue Dogs: Eliza and Natalie; many cousins and other family members. Jenny is also survived by her chosen family - those incredibly special people she developed deep friendships with over many years. Please know that you meant the world to her. Jenny was preceded in death by her Mother, Linnae Stensrud; Grandparents, Melvin and Amelia Stensrud, John Bauer, Walter and Loretta Johnson. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, April 13th from 12 - 5 PM at Eagles #34 - 2507 E 25th St, Minneapolis. Please dress in your best plaid or other Jenny-inspired clothing. A private interment will take place a later date.
