Jeffrey Lynn Peterson

Jeffrey Lynn Peterson was born August 6, 1950 in Minneapolis to Donald and Myra (Vollrath) Peterson. He is survived by sisters Gay (David) Rupp of Clarkfield, MN, Joy (Steve) Cadwell of Arden Hills, MN and sister-in-law Sharon Peterson of Hutchinson, MN. Nieces and nephews Kris (Steve) Schmisek of Farmington, MN., Kate (Josh) Larson of Grand Rapids, MN., Aaron Rupp of Cedar Rapids, Ia., Pauline (Rev Tyrone) Spenst of Plainview, MN, Sarah (Erick) Harper of Tyler, MN. and Rachel Cadwell of Arden Hills, MN., special friend Kristine Kjelland, fourteen great nieces and nephews and many cousins and countless friends. Preceded in death by his parents Donald and Myra, brother and best friend Stephen C. Peterson and nephew James T. Cadwell. He was baptized as an infant at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia, MN and confirmed at St. Lukes Lutheran in St. Louis Park. He attended elementary school in St. Louis Park, MN and Hopkins High School, Hopkins, MN. Jeff worked as a manager for Penny's supermarkets, then at Apache Coin in St. Anthony Village. He ended his working career as a Mail Clerk at the Minneapolis Post Office. And we can't forget all the time he spent working behind the counter at Texa Tonka Lanes. Jeff was a very good Uncle, he loved playing with and horsing around with all of the kids. He was especially close to Kate and her mini's Kolton, Shiane and Sadie. He would make surprise visits to Grand Rapids to see them, and they always wanted to video chat with Uncle Jeff and never missed sending the annual Birthday serenade from the Von Larson's! Jeff was a sports fanatic, like his father and brother could rattle off stats at the drop of the hat. He loved them all but especially loved the Sweet 16 basketball tournament every year. He had folders upon folders of stats for those games and went to Las Vegas almost every year during the tournament. He and Steve also spent a fair amount of time at Canterbury Downs playing the horses. He loved to bowl and participated in league bowling for many years scoring a perfect game on January 8, 2018. He was a very good and generous friend to all with a ready smile and infectious laugh. Jeffrey, you were loved by many and will be forever missed.
