Jean Alice Bury

Jean Alice Bury, age 71, of Minnetonka, passed away on August 31, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She left this life peacefully, holding the hand of her beloved husband, Norman Bury, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage. The day before her passing, her family gathered around her to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Born Jean Alice Lagerstrom, she was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Alice Lagerstrom, and by her brother, William "Bill" Lagerstrom. She is survived by her husband, Norman Bury; her children, Brian (Michelle) Bury, Laura (Jesse) Klingelhoets, and David (Jamie) Bury; and her grandchildren, Chloe Jean, Gavin, Lyla, William, Elwood, Maxmilian, and J.J. For more than 25 years, she served as an office secretary for Hopkins Public Schools. She was unfailingly reliable and her coworkers knew they could always depend on her. Her kindness and devotion touched countless lives. Family was Jean's greatest joy. Those who knew her best understood that she would do anything for the people she loved, offering unwavering support, encouragement, and care. She treasured many family traditions, including annual trips to Grand View Lodge, visits to the Duluth area, and Memorial Day gatherings at the lake, affectionately known by the family as "Camp Klingelhoets." Jean and Norman also enjoyed attending Saturday evening Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary, followed by dinner together. An avid gardener, Jean took great pride in creating a beautiful yard filled with colorful flowers that reflected the care and attention she brought to every part of her life. Jean taught her family by example how to live generously, love unconditionally, and celebrate one another's successes and joys. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to family will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Washburn-McReavy in Edina. The funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 18, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Minnetonka. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church.
