Jason Scott Bartels Jason Scott Bartels, 31, died unexpectedly on Friday, September 20, 2013, at home in Bloomington, Minnesota. Jason was born April 5, 1982, in Watertown, Wisconsin, the son of Jonathan and Teresa (Herian) Bartels. He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown and later was confirmed in his faith at St. John’s Lutheran Church, St. Paul, Minnesota. In his childhood, he lived in the Jefferson and Lake Mills areas of Wisconsin. He attended St. Croix Lutheran High School in West St. Paul, MN and Lake Mills High School and completed his requirements with a GED. He attended Hennepin County Technical School and received his diploma as a CNC machinist. He was employed as a machinist at several machine shops in the Minneapolis area and had returned to school this fall to further his skills. Jason enjoyed sports and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He also liked to fish. He was a caring person and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His faith in the Lord helped him through the difficult times in his life, and he had the hope of heaven in his heart. Jason is survived by his father, Jonathan Bartels (fiancée Barbara Hansen); his brother, Jacob Bartels; his grandparents, Carl and Muriel Bartels; his caring friend Liz, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Jason was preceded in death by his mother, Teresa Bartels, in June of 2013; his twin brother, Joshua, who died in 1982 at the age of two months; and his grandparents, Robert Herian and Geraldine Aumann. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, Wisconsin, on October 12, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. Burial will take place at Rock River Cemetery in Jefferson, Wisconsin. The Washburn-McReavy Funeral Home in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, is assisting the family with arrangements.
