Janice Ann Juneau

Our beautiful mother, Janice Ann Juneau, passed away peacefully at home on 06/06/2026. Born on 07/06/1940 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she grew up in the neighborhood fondly referred to as Nord'East, where she spent her childhood and teenage years. She was truly the center of our universe, and we just orbited around her soaking in her joy and love. She was only 40 when our dad passed away leaving her with four young children. Even through all of this she never lost her zest for life or her faith in God. Growing up she was the neighborhood "second mom", no one called her Mrs. Juneau, only, Ma. She could be found most nights and weekends during basketball season at our games and often she could be heard yelling at the ref when a call was made she didn't like. Her favorite one was "Hey ref, does your daughter play for the other team"! Embarrassing at the time, but so hilarious now and so mom. She also never met a holiday decoration she didn't like! True story, her house could rival the Dayton's 8th floor display! Mom's greatest joys in life were her family and her "sweetie," Joe, who brought her companionship, happiness, and love for many years. Together they traveled the country, spent summers at the lake, attended church, bingo and played numerous games of cribbage. (Fun fact about cribbage, my mom met our dad in a beer tavern over a game of cribbage!) I am sure that's why she loved it so much! She truly loved us all so deeply, but nothing brought a bigger smile to her face than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the quintessential grandma who always had candy in her purse. Her candy of choice, Smarties! She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved and she looked forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas every year when almost all her children and grandchildren were together. Her kindness, gentle spirit and sense of humor will be greatly missed but never forgotten. We find great comfort knowing she is with God now, at peace and reunited with our dad. She is survived by her loving companion of many years, Joe Children, Jill (Rob), Jenny (Mark), and Guy (Linda), John Her brother Eugene (Mary Jane) Grandchildren: Kati, Jake (Brooke), Jory, Jese, Sawyer, Carter, Summer, Skye, Cody, Justin and Tucker Great-grandchildren: Macoy and Dillon As well as a large and loving extended family, including nieces, nephews, and dear friends who felt like family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, siblings Kathleen and Robert, parents Dorothy and Walter. Mom's favorite color was Blue so we ask that you all wear something blue to honor her memory.
