Janeen Ann Ness

Janeen Ann Ness, born to Eva and Arnold Albertson in Reinbeck, Iowa, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on the evening of December 18, 2025. Janeen lived a life defined by love and unwavering care, fulfilling many cherished roles: daughter, wife, mother, grandma ("Gumma"), great-grandma, and friend. She was the embodiment of selflessness, always giving everything she had to those she loved, often placing the needs of others before her own. Her quiet and kind presence brought peace and grounding to all that knew her. At heart, Janeen was a caregiver. She devoted herself to caring for and advocating for those who needed support-both people and animals alike. Whether it was spending quality time in the car transporting her grandchildren to their many commitments, placing warm beds out for stray cats during the winter, or making sure the squirrels and ducks were fed each day, Janeen showed her love through quiet, consistent acts of care. She was determined to live on her own for as long as possible, so she could continue caring for and being close to her beloved cat, Chaos. She found joy in the simple things: loving her cats, walking in the park with her little guy Flex, watching her son fish, making her treasured Christmas fudge, and sharing meaningful conversations with her children and grandchildren whenever she had the chance. Janeen is, and always will be, deeply loved. The memories we shared with her will remain in our hearts forever. May she be reunited with those who passed before her, now resting in the peace and light of heaven. Janeen is survived by her brother Robert Albertson, her three daughters Colleen Guerdette of Blaine, MN, Audra (Darin) Johnson of Breezy Point, MN, Sharon Anderson of Glenview, IL, her son Greg Ness of Ramsey, MN, her grandkids Ashley (Mike), Dustin (Megan), Megan, Madison, Sara Louise, Sara Marie (Marty), Jon, and Shelby (Patrick) and great-grandkids Aubree, Keaton, Caelyn, Jaymeson, Odin, Easton, Daisy, Isabelle (Brandon), Ayden, Mason, Carter, Keelie, Lincoln, Talana, Carl Jr, Braxton, Willow, Eli, Mila, and Henry. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Ness, parents Eva Albertson Kraft and Arnold Albertson, brothers Leland Albertson and Stanley Albertson, sisters Lois Brown, Beverly Koshatka, and Roselyn Ehlers, son-in-law Steve Guerdette, and granddaughter-in-law Heather May. A small service will be held to remember Janeen on 12/26/25 at 11am at Washburn-McReavy, 1827 Coon Rapids Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433.
