Jane Antoinette Fastle

Fastle, Jane A. of Burnsville passed away on Saturday, August 24th at the age of 85, after living a fulfilling and beautiful life. Jane is preceded in death by her husband, James; grandson, Ryan Dray; parents, Rev. Douglas and Ruth Marks; brothers, Geroge Marks and Steven Marks; brothers in law, Glenn Niemuth and Richard Solseth. Jane was born in Hudson, WI on August 7, 1939. As a daughter of a Minister, the family moved several times throughout WI where she graduated from Medford High School in 1957. She then attended the University of WI Steves Point. Jane married Dale Dray June 5,1959 in New Ulm, MN. Jane moved to Bitburg AFB, Germany where Daniel was born October 1960. She then moved to George AFB in CA where Kevin was born in 1963. In May 1964 she moved to Minneapolis where she attended classes at the University of Minnesota graduating with a B.A. degree (anthropology) in 1967 and a B.S. in 1969 (education). She later obtained her master's degree in education. She taught 3rd and 5th grades in the Minneapolis Public School District for 30 years. Jane married James R. Fastle on July 7, 1979. During their 34-year marriage, Jane enjoyed and took pride in building three homes, traveling to visit family and friends and taking her dream trip to the UK in 2012. Jane took flying lessons and earned her pilot's license, flying to New Mexico once to visit her parents. She also enjoyed many hobbies including knitting, crochet, scrapbooking, building miniature dollhouses and dioramas, sewing and model railroads. Jane was a long-time member of the Order of Eastern Star belonging to Lake Harriet Chapter 202 and Rainbow Chapter 267. She joined numerous committees, participated in many fund-raising activities to support charities and held leadership positions on the local and state level. In 2015 she traveled to Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania in a Representative role. Survived by sons, Daniel Dray; Kevin (Julie) Dray; granddaughter, Karen (Justin) Bartelds; great-grandchildren, Myles Bartelds and Carly Bartelds; also, sons Robert (Lilia) Fastle, Keith (Anne) Fastle; daughter, Jackie (Bob) McCarthy; and six grandchildren; sister, Ellen Niemuth; sisters in law, Florence Marks and Betty Solseth; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Celebration of Life and Eastern Star Services will be 11 AM Saturday, September 14th with visitation one hour prior at The Well, a United Methodist Church, 14770 Canada Ave West, Rosemount. Private burial at Dawn Valley Memorial Gardens. Memorials preferred to the Masonic Children's Hospital or Joyce Preschool. A special thank you is extended to all of the staff from MN Hospice and The Fountains at Hosanna. We appreciate all of the care and kindness that was given to Mom and us - Kevin, Julie and Karen
