Jane Ann Evans March 16, 1940 - July 12, 2025 Jane Ann Evans, a radiant soul whose warmth touched countless lives, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, at the age of 85, surrounded by her loving family. Born in 1940 to Olaf and Helen Synsteby, Jane was the middle child, raised with a spirit of love, faith, and adventure that defined her remarkable life. Jane's life was forever changed when she met Gerald Evans while working at Sears, an encounter that blossomed into a 58-year marriage filled with devotion and joy. Together, they built a cherished family. Jane was preceded in death by her beloved son, Eric Evans, and her sister, Ruby Bougie. She is survived by her husband Gerald, daughter, Diana; son, Kurt; her treasured grandchildren, Gaby, Jacob, and Ariana; her sister, Kristi (Rick) Engh: daughter-in -law Kellie and many nieces and nephews. Jane's fierce devotion to her grandchildren was boundless-she was their greatest cheerleader, never missing a sporting event or extracurricular activity, her presence a constant source of love and encouragement. As a homemaker and accountant, Jane masterfully balanced her nurturing heart with a sharp, independent mind. A devout Catholic, her faith was a guiding light, reflected in her compassionate volunteer work with the League of Catholic Women, where she touched many lives. Known for her quick wit, attentive listening, and infectious warmth, Jane had a gift for making everyone feel at home. Her adventurous spirit led her to embrace new experiences, always with a brightness that drew others to her. Her legacy of kindness, faith, and unwavering love for her family-especially her grandchildren-will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at St. Charles Borromeo, 2739 NE Stinson Parkway, Minneapolis, MN 55418. Visitation will take place from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Washburn-McReavy Northeast Chapel, 2901 Johnson Street NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418, and at the church one hour prior to the Mass, beginning at 10:00 a.m. "Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure.
