Jack Owen Winslow

Jack Owen Winslow passed away on August 19, 2026. Jack was born in Elkhart, Indiana, to Owen and Alma Winslow on March 9, 1929, and he also lived in Ohio, Massachusetts, Shakopee, Minneapolis, and finally Hastings, Minnesota, where he spent the rest of his early life. He was a co-captain of the football team as well as a member of the basketball team and golf team and the vice president of the National Thespian Society at Hastings High School. He worked 40 and a half years at 3M, starting in 1948. He worked in production before moving into production control for thirty-five years, first at Chemolite in Cottage Grove and later at the Maplewood headquarters. His mom and aunt taught him how to play golf starting at age 9, sparking a lifelong love. He regularly played until he was 92 but continued watching golf any chance he could get throughout his life. He also developed his love of tennis at a young age which he continued playing until he was 87, and he even won the Hastings City Tournament in 1956. Meeting Audrey Cram in 1948 when he took her community education typing class, Jack and Audrey married on June 16, 1951, and lived in Hastings until moving to Richfield in 1957. This is where they raised their daughter Nancy and lived until moving to Eden Prairie in 1997 after the birth of their only grandchild, Jane. This year would have been Jack's 73th year of gopher football tickets, but his love for the Golden Gophers started back when he was in high school. Becoming season ticket holders in 1954, Jack and Audrey attended Gopher home games, later joined by Nancy and Jane. Jack and Audrey attended both Gopher Rose Bowl appearances in 1961 and 1962, and more recently, Jack and his family attended the Citrus Bowl and Outback Bowl in Florida. Jack is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Audrey Winslow, and his parents, Owen and Alma Winslow. He is survived by his daughter Nancy (James) Bollweg and his granddaughter Jane (boyfriend Harley Anderson) Bollweg. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Friendship Village LTC and Beyond Hospice for their kindness, compassion, and care. He was a beloved husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather, and Jack will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
