Chies, Jacalyn Lee In Loving Memory of Jacalyn Lee Chies It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jacalyn Lee Chies, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Jacalyn was born on March 25, 1954, to proud parents Roland and Diane Jenkins. She peacefully departed this world on November 8th, 2023, at Mercy Hospital, succumbing to heart complications at the age of 69. Jacalyn spent 50 wonderful years by the side of her loving husband, Michael Chies. Jacalyn and Michael met when they were just 15 & 16 years old, soulmates from the very start. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Jacalyn was a devoted mother to her two sons, Ryan Chies and Brady Chies, and a supportive mother-in-law to Kate Chies. Her joy expanded further with the arrival of her grandchildren, Lila (10) and Liam Chies (6), who were her world. Family meant everything to Jacalyn, and she shared a close bond with her two sisters, Darcy Hollick and Jody Donaldson. Jacalyn also shared and cherished her relationships with nieces Amy Haapala, Cori Johnson, and Courtney Bouthilet. Whether it was family gatherings or quiet moments of connection, Jacalyn's warmth and love created a foundation that will endure through generations. A woman of many talents, Jacalyn was celebrated for her brilliant artistic skills. She found joy in sharing her creations with others, leaving a lasting impression through her creativity and passion. Her artistic spirit was a reflection of the vibrant life she led. Jacalyn truly loved nature, the outdoors, and traveling. Jacalyn was a avid downhill skier and lived for those moments with family and friends. Jacalyn graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1972 and embarked on a fulfilling professional journey. She began her career as a dental assistant, dedicating eight years to brightening others smiles. Later, she transitioned to become the Director of Human Resources/Business Office Manager at New Brighton Care Center, where she continued to make a positive impact to the family business for over 36 years. Known for her zest for life, Jacalyn lived each day to the fullest. Her infectious laughter, kindness, and unwavering love left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She touched the lives of many, creating a legacy that will be remembered and cherished. To honor Jacalyn's remarkable life, a Celebration of Life Ceremony will take place on December 8th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Bunker Hills Event Center, 12800 Bunker Prairie Road NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55448. Family and friends are invited to come together, share stories, and celebrate the beautiful soul that was Jacalyn Lee Chies. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the American Heart Association in Jacalyn's memory. Jacalyn will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her love.
