Henry Egan

Egan Jr., Henry George Passed away on 12/10/2008 at the age of 85 He was born December 31, 1922, in South Saint Paul, Minnesota. He graduated as a captain from Cretin High School and went on to study at University of St. Thomas. After serving in the US Navy during WWII, he completed his degree in Business Administration at U of M. His began his career with Egan Chevrolet, in South St Paul. The majority of his career was with the Trust Department at Northwestern National Bank in Minneapolis. After retiring, he founded Fiduciary Management Group Ltd with Stephen D. Peterson. Henry was a life member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and on the board of the Business and Economics Education Foundation-Best Prep. Henry enjoyed lifelong friendships through MAOANs and "Retireds" in St. Paul. Henry was an honorable man and his Catholic faith was very important to him; he demonstrated that through generous financial support to the Church. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry George Egan Sr. and Alice Walker Egan; his sisters, Marcella Egan Yaeger and Joan Egan O'Brien. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Kathleen Sipe; his daughters, Dr. Kathleen Egan Haisley (Donald C. Haisley) of Hailey Idaho, Pamela R. Egan (former son-in-law Stephen D. Johannsen) of Madison, Wisconsin, Patrice Egan Werner (Robert J. Werner) of St. Paul, and Christine Egan Funk (Donald W. Funk) of Racine, Wisconsin. He relished time with his grandchildren Matthew S. Egan Johannsen (Kelly J. Dempsey), Benjamin R. Werner, (Cathy J. Stone), William H. Egan Johannsen, David Egan Haisley, Thomas D. Egan Johannsen, Kelly R. Haisley, Elizabeth P. Egan Werner, Jessica A. Funk, and his great granddaughter, Lilliana C. Werner. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, William Sipe (Mary), Joseph P. Sipe (Donna), Fr. Robert Sipe and his sister-in-law, Carol Sipe Donohue (Peter); step mother Carol Egan Sipe, of Cape Coral, Florida, and his half sisters, Michelle Egan Burke (Dennis) of Roseville and Renee Egan Ryan of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. Henry was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved the mountains and skiing. He had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing and the great outdoors. His family was his first priority and his greatest source of pride and joy.
