Harland Orlando Johnson Place of birth: Fergus Falls, MN DOB: 07/07/1952 DOD: 10/07/2023 - Andover, MN (during bowhunting season) After a courageous battle with cancer Harland Johnson 71, passed away peacefully in his home. Harland's nicknames to family and friends were: The bingo man, camo man and bingo legend. Harland Johnson was born to Rolland O. Johnson and Evelyn M. Johnson, in Fergus Falls, MN on a family farm. Harland lived on many farms until they moved to Centerville, MN. Harland was passionate about his cars and hunting. Harland was multi-talented in many ways; just by listening he could tell if your car or golf cart needed a tune up, or better yet he would say, "better buy a new one'. Harland taught gun safety classes in Anoka County. Harland loved to smoke meat at the lake with his buddy Joe, he processed his own deer. Harland was famous for his beef sticks and jerky! Harland also had a love for hot wheel cars and hosted many hot wheels drag race parties. Harland's employment history included but not limited to the Automotive Industry, meter reader, a shop Forman at highway equipment, and he was a certified licensed daycare provider and was proud to be the first male daycare provider of the year! Harland and Annemarie loved their business "Wood Be Yours" and the love the traveling they did for shows. In 1975 Harland married Anne Marie Hagerty, they had two sons, Michael J. Johnson, and David O. Johnson. Harland's lifetime goal was to ingrain the love of the outdoors and nature to his family, not just the "hunt", but all that it entails including many vacations and weekends where fishing trips in our camper to Canada, then Lake of the Woods, Lake Pokegama, and ended up at Lake Mille Lacs Island Resort for 17 years and made so many wonderful memories. This was Harland and Anne Marie's spiritual retreat to be close to God and nature. A special thank you to Dr. King who started Harlands' cancer treatment and ended up calling Harland and spoke with him before he passed. Harland was so thankful for Pastor JoAnn's spiritual leadership; he loved their talks and to be a member and part of the Grace Lutheran Church Family. In the last part of his journey, he had a saying to all "Bless your Heart"! Harland relished being a "Pa Pa" to his grandchildren. Harland Orland Johnosn, 71 of Andover, MN they are survived by his wife Anne Marie Johson, son David O. Johnson, wife Julie Johnson of Otsego, MN, their children Trinty A. Johnson and Evan O. Johnson, son Michael Johnson of Albert Lea, MN., and his sons Derek K. Johnson and Justin Johnson. Sister-in-law Jean Novak, husband Jim Novak, Brother in Law's John E Hagerty and wife Cindy, William Hagerty and wife Karen, Jim Hagerty and wife Val, and many nephews and nieces, many close "new and old" friends. Harland Johson's service will be held on Oct 18th at Grace Lutheran Church, 13655 Round Lake Blvd NW. Andover, MN 55304 at 11:00 AM, visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Lunch to follow Interment private. In Memory of Harland Johson wearing camo is optional and is acceptable.
