Grace Phyllis Hufnagle

Grace Phyllis Ryan Hufnagle, beloved mother, wife, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Phyllis' life was rooted in a deep love of family, a profound gratitude for the blessings that life brings and a steadfast faith in the benevolence of God. She spent her life serving others, and there was always room for one more at her table. And one more perfect egg in the pan. She touched countless lives volunteering at her children's schools, at Fairview Southdale Hospital, and through her work at St Edwards Church in Bloomington where she and her husband Paul were founding members. As a member of the Bloomington Affiliated Garden Club she brightened many lives with her tasteful flower compositions. When she wasn't busy down in the Cities, Phyllis spent countless joy filled hours with family and friends at Ryanland, the family cabin on Lower Cullen Lake in Nisswa. As her roles transitioned from Newborn to Chief Fish Skinner, to Wife, Mother and finally Matriarch, she enjoyed every minute of those 89 years. She was thrilled to share her love of the cabin and sunset cruises with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and any friend or relative that happened to stop by Ryanland. During those busy, fun-filled days she always took some time to enjoy the diamonds on the lake and reflect on the blessings of her life. Phyllis was never happier than when she was helping someone in need. She leaves a legacy of kindness, gratitude, and service to others that exemplifies the teachings that guided her life. We miss her so much. Phyllis is preceded in death by Paul, her husband of 60 years, her parents, James and Grace Ryan. Sisters, Sisters in laws and Brothers in laws. She is survived by her children Paul (Carol) Mary (Michael) Hoffman Tim (Melissa) Anne (Warren) Mitchell Susan (Charlie) Colvin. Grandchildren: Dan (Alyson) Katie (Ben) Megan (Dave) Patrick, Kelly, Timothy, Kristina (Chris), Ellie, Zachary. Great-grandchildren Hudson, Connor, Mackenzie, Baby Huffer. Lifelong Friends Winnie, Carol and Kathy, Nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial Friday March 13th, 11am at St Edwards Catholic Church 9401 Nesbitt ave s. Bloomington. Visitation one hour prior to mass at the church. Memorials preferred All Saints Senior Living for the loving care they provided to Phyllis.
