Gerry Spindler

Geraldine "Gerry" Spindler (Godino), age 75 died peacefully with her family by her side on January 19, 2023. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel 3600 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55408 with visitation an hour prior to the service. In addition to the service, a visitation will be available Tuesday, January 31 from 4-7pm at Washburn- McReavy 7625 Mitchell Rd, Eden Prairie, MN 55344. She was a graduate of Mount Aloysius College in Crescent PA and became a lab tech for many years before her interest in floral arranging took over. She loved decorating, especially at Christmas and for Birthdays and for tea parties. She also was a fantastic cook and loved to entertain family on holidays and birthdays. Generosity was her gift to us all and she lit up every room she entered. She was a true comedian, she loved to joke around and have fun. She loved to travel with friends and family on cruises to Europe, Alaska, Central America and the Caribbean and loved playing card games bridge, cribbage, and hand n foot with Bob and friends. She also loved to spend winters at their Florida home. She loved to garden and was a crafter at heart. Gerry loved being a grandmother and spoiling her grandchildren with love and laughter. Whether it be vacations, playing games, decorating her house, holidays or just visiting, she always made the time spent together fun. Survived by loving husband of 53 years Bob, son Jeffrey (Sanzana), daughter Kimberly (Jourdan) Bennett, grandchildren Tyler, Jackson, Isabella, Christian, Dimitrije (Maria), great granddaughter Mia, brother Dennis Godino, brother- in-law Paul Evert & sister-in-law Grace (Bob) Thomas, lots of nieces, nephews and cherished friends. Preceded in death by parents John and Bernadine Godino, son Gregory Spindler and sister-in-law Georgetta Evert. Gerry and the family wish to thank the following for their devotion to her care. Gerry will forever be remembered as having more than 9 lives, her amazing generosity, fighting kidney and heart disease with all her might, being brave, beautiful and as a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother and Grandma. We love you!
