Gerald David Belmore

Gerald "Butch" D. Belmore, age 84, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026. Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Alice C. Johnson and Alberg N. Belmore; his brothers, Shorty, Joe, Michael, Mike, and Larry Belmore; and his sisters, Lucille, Betty, and Maxine. He is survived by his significant other, Bonnie Lee; Lois Belmore, the mother of his children; his children, Todd Belmore, Cindy Belmore Cummings, Tim Belmore, and Cheri Jacobson; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, George (Barb) Belmore; sister-in-law, Pat Belmore; brother-in-law, Glen Kinney; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones. Butch was a devoted family man who treasured time spent with family and friends. Known as a true jack-of-all-trades, he could fix almost anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a heart of gold, a contagious sense of humor, and a smile that could light up any room. His kindness, laughter, and larger-than-life personality will be deeply missed by all who knew him. One of Butch's greatest passions was his work. Alongside his brother-in-law, Glen Kinney, he built a successful refrigeration business, Al-Mar Sales. Butch never cared much for a traditional 9-to-5 schedule and thoroughly enjoyed the challenges and rewards of his profession. His strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit were evident throughout his life. When he wasn't working, Butch loved spending time at the family farm in Isle, Minnesota. There he found peace tinkering on projects, relaxing outdoors, and watching the deer wander through the property. He also had a special love for animals and cherished the many pets he welcomed into his life, treating each as a member of the family. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Washburn-McReavy Crystal Lake Chapel, 3816 Penn Avenue North, Minneapolis, MN. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at the cemetery. A luncheon will follow the service at the Osseo American legion post 172, 260 4th Ave SE, Osseo , Mn 55369. Though he will be greatly missed, Butch's legacy of laughter, hard work, generosity, and love for family will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
