Werbowenko, Georgina (Youngward) Our dearly beloved Gina passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, at the age of 82. She now rests in peace after bravely living with Parkinson's dementia through her final years, sustained by the unwavering love and devotion of her husband, Tony, with whom she shared 62 beautiful years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and John Youngward. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Tony; her brother, Robert; her children, Maria, Anne, and Richard; and her cherished grandchildren, Kendal, Ashley, Kate, and Ryan. Gina was known for her sharp mind, quiet strength, and youthful curiosity. Though naturally introverted, she possessed a rich inner world and found joy in learning, reflection, and the simple beauty woven throughout everyday life. She approached the world with kindness, thoughtfulness, and an eagerness to keep growing. She loved planning trips and setting off on adventures-especially road trips, as driving was one of her great joys. Together, she and Tony explored many parts of the United States, enjoyed cruises, traveled to Mexico, and made a memorable journey to Germany to visit Tony's childhood home. Music was one of the great loves of Gina's life. She found joy and inspiration in many different styles of music and shared that love generously with her children. For her family, the songs she treasured will forever carry memories of her and the countless moments they shared together. Gina also found joy in bowling, where her precision and competitive spirit made her a skilled league bowler alongside Tony for many years. She enjoyed card club with dear friends, loved getting lost in a good book, and embraced technology and video games with the same curiosity she brought to so many other parts of life. Exceptionally organized and gifted with numbers, Gina had a natural talent for financial planning and computing. Determined to continue learning, she enrolled at Normandale Community College in her 40s, where she studied accounting. She began that journey alongside her oldest daughter, Maria, and had the unique privilege of graduating with her daughter Anne-a memory their family has always treasured. Gina went on to build a successful career in accounting, finding great satisfaction and purpose in work she truly loved. Her example remains a lasting reminder that it is never too late to pursue new dreams. Above all, Gina will be remembered for the unconditional love and encouragement she gave her family. She believed in supporting those she loved as they discovered their own passions and pursued their own paths, just as she had done throughout her own life. Although Parkinson's dementia brought tremendous challenges in her final years, it never diminished the warmth of her spirit, her love of music, or the remarkable bond she shared with Tony, who could still bring a smile to her face. Her family will forever remember that smile, the kindness she carried so naturally, and the countless ways she enriched their lives. While they will miss her deeply, they take comfort in knowing that her love, her example, and the music she cherished will continue to accompany them wherever life leads. A memorial service will be held on Friday July 17th at Washburn-McReavy Hillside Chapel, 2610 19th Avenue NE, Mpls. Visitation 10 am, Service 11 am.
