George Edward Hauck

George Edward Hauck, 86 of Vadnais Heights, Minnesota passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026. Though his battle with pneumonia was brief, he endured a long fight with dementia. In his final weeks he was surrounded and comforted by his family. George was born November 4, 1939 in Yonkers, New York the son of George F. Hauck and Alma Gallagher. He was raised in Tarrytown, New York and graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, New York in 1958. After high school, he attended and graduated from the University of Notre Dame. He later went on to obtain a doctorate degree in electrical engineering from New York University. In 1974 he married Barbara Story. They were married for 25 years and had one child (Edward, 1976). Later, he met his partner, Dung Ngyuen in San Jose, California. After he retired in 2005 they moved to Vadnais Heights, Minnesota where he resided until his death. He had a distinguished career as a manager and director at many companies including Univac (later Unisys), Dell, PeopleSoft, and finally Oracle. During his career, his work took him to many different places including the Twin Cities, Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, Austin, and San Jose. When not working, he enjoyed tending his vegetable garden, running to stay healthy, vacationing with his family, and having a nice dinner drinking wine with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, sharp intellect, kind soul, and warm smile. He is preceded in death by his parents, (George & Alma). He is survived by his partner Dung, his son Edward (Heather) and grandson (MinJoong). A visitation will be held at Washburn-McReavy Funeral in Shoreview, Minnesota on June 2 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. followed by a burial at Roselawn Cemetery in Roseville, Minnesota.
