Frank Peters

Frank Peters, a beloved husband, cherished father, and esteemed member of his community, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, with his devoted wife Joy by his side. Born on June 9, 1933, in Minneapolis, MN, Frank lived a life filled with love, laughter, and service to others. Frank (Pete) was the son of Frank Sr. and Ina Peters. He graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1951, and then completed his honorable service in both the United States Army and Navy during the Korean War. In 1957, Frank married the love of his life, Joy St. John, in Pensacola, FL. Their remarkable union spanned 68 years. Together, they raised two children, Jay and Jill, who were the pride of his life. Frank's career with the State of Minnesota Employment Service spanned many years. Known for his approachability and reliability, he touched many lives, always offering a helping hand and a silly joke to lighten the mood. Frank was a gifted musician, an avid drummer and banjo player, and a member of the Minnesota Musician's Union. His passion for music was only rivaled by his love for baseball, which he shared as a coach, inspiring young players. Frank was a proud 33rd level Mason and an active member of the Scottish Rite Masonic Temple in Wayzata. These affiliations were an expression of his belief in the values of brotherhood and charity. He leaves behind his family: loving wife Joy, son Jay (wife Patty), daughter Jill (Bill Gustafson), grandchildren Madeleine and Matthew Peters, and great-grandchildren Zoe and Isabel Christmas, and Shad Deal Junior, along with several nieces and nephews. Frank is predeceased by his brother David and granddaughter Amy Christmas. Frank's life will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Washburn McReavy, 1400 Mainstreet, Hopkins, MN 55343. Visitation at 10:00, service at 11:00, followed by luncheon. Inurnment at Fort Snelling on June 9 at 08:30, Meeting area 2. In his passing, Frank leaves behind not just a family who adored him, but a community that admired and respected him. His silly sense of humor, his compassionate spirit, and his unwavering reliability will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. As we remember Frank, let us carry forward his legacy of love, laughter, and service to others.
