Francis Loreno

Loreno, Francis Francis Loreno was born on February 14th, 1934, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and peacefully passed away on August 9th, 2016 in St. Anthony Village, MN with his wife Roberta and family at his side. A loving husband, role model father, attentive nanu, and friend, Frank loved his family and watching them grow. Frank married Roberta Kay Walker on June 25th, 1960. Over their 56 years together they raised 7 children: Toni (Rawn), Robert (Michelle), Wayne (Kristin), James (Nancy), Julie (Scott), Thomas (Susie), and Nina (Eric). Frank's 82 years also were blessed with 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Frank graduated from Edison High School in 1951. He attended the University of Minnesota for two years which qualified him to join the Navy Flight Program. After being designated a Navy Aviator he became a Naval Flight Instructor and was stationed in Whiting Field. Frank retired after 20+ years of naval service as a Lieutenant Commander. Frank was a trusted and well respected CPA. He was a natural mentor to anyone fortunate enough to work along side him. In addition to his career, Frank had a genuine passion for volunteering. He put his heart into all of his projects: he joined the St. Anthony Lion's Club in 1985, he was the treasurer for The Minnesota Lion's Eye Bank for 15 years, and he and Roberta created and enjoyed maintaining a Lion's flower garden for 20+ years. Frank and his family want to extend a sincere thank you to the doctors at the University of Minnesota Cancer Clinic, especially Dr. Grammens and Dr. Peterson who were instrumental in extending his life and treating his cancer. Frank and his family would also like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Frank Bracchi, Louie and Ann Marie Ferraro, and Mike Morgan, a neighbor, all of these people went above and beyond to provide transportation and help in many forms whenever it was needed.
