Frances A. "Bee" Heimbach

Heimbach, Frances Ann "Bee" (nee Roll) age 92, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully Jan 7, 2013. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Albert; and parents, William and Elizabeth Roll. Survived by daughters, Judith (James) Wells, Jean (Roger) King and Janice (James) Kock; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Born January 6, 1921 in Minneapolis and married Albert H. Heimbach on July 3, 1944. Bee grew up in south Minneapolis and attended Central High School and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1942. She was a member of Tri Delta sorority and after graduation was employed as a social worker. She was married in Orlando, Florida where her husband was stationed during World War II and then returned to Minneapolis where she and Al raised their three daughters. Bee was active in many community organizations include Big Sisters, War Memorial Blood Bank, Annunciation Church Women's Association and the U of M Alumni Association. She enjoyed travel in the U.S. and overseas, and particularly enjoyed her participation in Minneapolis Aquatennial where she and Al were actively involved for many years. A wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Bee was devoted to her family and also treasured her many life-long friends. All who knew her will remember her for her generous spirit and warm sense of humor. Despite the infirmities of her advanced age, she never complained and always had a smile. No matter the pains and ailments, when asked how she was doing, she always responded with "fine" and a beautiful smile. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family and those who were fortunate to know this exceptional lady. Special thanks to the staff at Friendship Village in Bloomington where Bee resided for 11 years and for the exceptional care she received in the later years of her long and fulfilling life. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour before at Our Lady of Grace Church, 5071 Eden Avenue, Edina. Private interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
