Frances P. Hayden

Hayden, Frances P. 1909 - 2013 age 104 of Minnetonka, died April 21, 2013. As Frances wrote in many sympathy cards, she is now "with the angels, looking down on us." She would also say that she went too soon as her goal was to reach 110! Frances was one of twelve children born to Andrew and Mary Pianko in rural Derryname Township MN. It's been said she successfully avoided most farm chores until she "went to town" to attend New Prague High School, from there to St. Cloud where she graduated from St. Cloud State Teacher College. Her career in teaching began in country schools and, later, St. Joseph's in Hopkins. In 1938 she married Milton Hayden, had four daughters, continued teaching plus cashiering at the former Country Club Market. This last job not only provided extra income, but, a chance to be her outgoing, friendly self. Sorry, doctors, her "secret" had to be genetic as she inhaled salt and avoided exercise and healthy eating whenever possible. Colette is effusively grateful for the exceptional care and respect shown to Frances by Sunrise of Minnetonka and Diane, Linda and Colleen from Methodist Hospice. Because of the love, care and attention she received from all who tended to her, she was able to remain her feisty, sassy self! Among the throngs who preceded and are awaiting her are her parents, 3 brothers, 5 sisters, husband, Milton; daughters, Colleen Hayden and Carmen Kairies; son-in-law, Red Kairies. Her survivors include daughter, Colette (Rob) Haas, Charlotte (Hayden (Clifton Curtis Jr.); sisters, Kathryn O'Neill, Amie Fogarty, Dorothy Brown; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to ICA. One final thing: she expressed wishes for prayers so she "won't be in "purg" for too long." Interment Calvary Cemetery, LeSueur, MN. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, April 25 at 11 AM with visitation 1 hour prior at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1310 Mainstreet, Hopkins.
