Verna Harvath

Emma Verna Harvath, of Maple Grove, Minnesota passed away peacefully on February 21, 2023 at The Willows of Arbor Lakes Memory Care at the age of 94 years. Verna is survived by her children: Jerry (Rhonda) Tveitbakk of Savage MN; Renae (Rick) Perkins of Elk River, MN; daughter-in-law Karen Tveitbakk of Chisago City, MN ; step-children: Pat (Randy) Crumpton of Sunnyvale, Texas; Donna (Rob) Anderson of Brooklyn Park, MN ; Al Jr. (Barb) Harvath of Chaska, MN; and Brian (Nancy) Harvath of Prior Lake, MN . Grandchildren: Brandon(Amanda) Tveitbakk; Jared Tveitbakk; Krista Tveitbakk (Nick); Joe Perkins; Kayli (Brian)Sparks; Jamie (Heather) Tveitbakk; Heidi (Tim) Whiteford; Andrew Crumpton; Emily (Jay) Shaw; Ryan (Ellen) Crumpton; Bethany Crumpton; Mali Crumpton; Lia Crumpton; Ana Crumpton; Corey Crumpton; Dave (Kate) Anderson; Robbie (Erica) Anderson; Steve (Brittany) Anderson; Tina (Dan) Rue; Sam (Misha) Harvath; Ben Harvath; Jim (Kirsten) Harvath. Verna is also survived by 31 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her oldest son: Ronald Tveitbakk. Verna was born in Clearbrook, MN in 1928 to Randi and Ole Bjerke. Verna moved to California as a teenager and graduated from Berkley High School. She came back to Minnesota and married Thor Tveitbakk in September 4, 1948, and lived in Clearbrook and then moved to North Dakota for Thor's work. When they moved back to Minnesota, they bought a home in Richfield, MN and lived there for years. After Thor died in 1967, Verna was a single mom for a few years and then met and married Albert Harvath, Sr. in July 22, 1972. Al, Sr. passed away in 2010 and Verna eventually came to live at The Willows of Arbor Lakes. Verna loved the grandkids and would babysit whenever she was needed. She was always willing to help anyone that needed help. Verna loved to cook and bake (ohhhh those yummy desserts and cookies she would always have in the kitchen). She loved to sew (she made 2 wedding dresses, some bridesmaid dresses and prom dresses that were all beautiful). She also made many awesome and warm quilts. She loved to read and most importantly, she loved the Lord and lived her life according to His word, the Bible. Thank you to the staff at The Willows of Arbor Lakes for their awesome care of Verna in her last few years. Also, thank you to Grace Hospice for their loving care in Verna's last days. A Memorial Service will be held at Washburn-McReavy, 2300 West Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, MN 55431 on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Viewing will be at 10 a.m. The service will start at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. The burial will be at a later date for immediate family.
