Baron, Edna Vivian (Ness) Heaven gained an angel when we lost our beloved mother, Edna Vivian (Ness) Baron on July 2, 2021. Born May 12, 1925 to Arthur H. Ness and Mabel W. Swenson Ness on a farm near Wolverton, MN. There she knew the beauty of the stars and enjoyed the images in the clouds, Edna drew frequently, also designing and making her clothes, always the "fashionista". As a life-long learner, she traveled widely across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and a "Heritage Tour" (arranged by her cousin Lee Gustafson) of Sweden and Norway seeing relatives from both sides and important family sites. She also travelled to other international locations. From her travels, she learned to appreciate a wide range of people and cultures. Edna was preceded in death by our devoted and fun loving father, Anton (Tony) W. Baron, dear son Anthony, her second life parter, well-known tuba player Earl J. McNeal, her parents, six siblings, their spouses, a niece and several nephews. She is survived by sister, Karen Ness Poelakker, (Utah), daughters Cheryl (Patrick) Kartes, Beverly Baron, both Minneapolis, and Susan (Keith) Anders, (Wisconsin), much loved grandchildren, Lisa (Scott) Niedfeldt, Cyrus (Piper) Anders, and Ciara (Tim) Kastelein, plus her adored greatgrands, Chloe, Rachel, Weston, Anders, Ella, Tyler, Max and Forrest, plus many always loved nieces and nephews. Edna was special for many others. She was a mother to the motherless, a friend to the friendless. She was one to share her heart, her home, her clothes and her lunch. We have all been blessed by her presence on earth. She always lived a life that reflected God's heart. She lived in Northeast Minneapolis for approximately 50 years, moving with Earl to Augustana Apartments Elliot Park where she found many friends, and after a serious fall moved to Catholic Eldercare. Our thanks to Catholic Eldercare caregivers and the HealthPartners Hospice team, all providing her with loving care. Memorials preferred to Catholic Eldercare, 817 N.E. Main Street, Mpls., MN 55418. Celebration of her life will be held September 18, 2021. Reviewal of photos begins at 10:00 am at the Washburn McReavy Hillside Chapel at Hillside Cemetery on New Brighton Blvd, (near 19th Ave. N.E.) Minneapolis, where we will celebrate her life beginning at 11:00am, and with a lunch served in the Hillside Community Room by noon. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetary.
