Earl Rasmussen

Rasmussen, Earl Francis age 78, born 6/17/1932, died 4/15/2011. Preceded in death by parents Earl F. Sr. and Cecelia Rasmussen; sisters Mary Ann Debusschere and Margaret (Pat) Craig. He is survived by loving wife of 56 years Yvonne; children Earl David Rasmussen, Michelle (Rick) Englund, Karen Rasmussen (Paul Zagaria), Keith Rasmussen, and step- grandson James Zagaria. Earl was a self employed CPA since 1965, offices in Blaine, MN, 26 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retired SMSGT, having served both active duty and in the MN National Guard. Member of the Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids, former church council member, past Grand Knight of the Blaine Knights of Columbus Council 5141, current member of Epiphany Council 10138, member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Nicollet Assembly, member and past commander of Coon Rapids American Legion Post 334, member of Coon Rapids VFW Post 9625, current member and past president of North Metro Chamber of Commerce, former Chairman of Blaine Park Board. He was active in Boy Scouts, founding leader of Cub Pack 522 and Troop 522. He also started Explorer Post 522, a co-ed post taking 25 high school members to the Explorer Olympics in Colorado. Current member of MNSCU Advisory Board, active in the DFL party. Earl proudly carried the American Flag in a Remembrance Day parade in Walton on the Naze, England. He recently became a published author of a murder mystery entitled "The Guard Murders". He loved anything military and was an avid reader. His hobbies included HO model railroading, bowling, fishing and telling stories about his experiences. He was a proud alumni of Detroit Catholic Central High School, now located in Novi, Michigan. He earned a BA degree from the University of Minnesota and a MMA from Metro State. Memorials preferred to Catholic Central High School, Novi, MI or Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids. Interment Morningside Memorial Gardens. Mass of Resurrection 11 AM Tuesday, April 19 at the Church of the Epiphany, 1900 111th Ave. NW, Coon Rapids. Visitation 1 hour prior to Mass at church and 4-8 PM Monday, April 18, with 7 PM prayer service at: Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel 763-767-1000 1827 Coon Rapids Blvd.
