Duane Joseph Pidcock

Pidcock, Duane Joseph of Minneapolis, MN, passed away at his home on December 12, 2016. Duane was born on Feb. 13, 1933 in Minneapolis to Wesley and Lauretta Pidcock. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia. Children Keyna (Don) Skeffington of Minneapolis; Noelle (Jeff) Turner of Minneapolis; Teddy (Leila) Pidcock of Medfield, MA; and Justine (John Cagney) Pidcock of Minneapolis; grandchildren: Brigid Skeffington; Brooks (Tamara), Kearney and Mallory Turner; Savannah, Fallon, Mairead and Aiveen Pidcock; and Aisling and Emmet Cagney. Duane also leaves his brother David, many nieces and nephews, extended family in Ireland, and close friends. Duane was raised in Minneapolis and Eden Prairie. He attended St. Thomas the Apostle grade school, De La Salle and Eden Prairie High Schools and attended the University of Minnesota, majoring in History. He was drafted into the US Army and served 2 years in France. Duane married Patricia in 1959 and raised their family in Eden Prairie. He started his career in health administration and later became a realtor with Edina Realty. Duane dedicated much of his life to serving others and expected the same of his family. He volunteered with the American Lung Association, American Heart Association, St. Hubert's School Association (Pres), St. Hubert's Church (Lector and Eucharistic Minister), Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce (Pres), Eden Prairie Foundation (Vice President); and Founder of Eden Prairie Foundation Ball. Duane enjoyed gardening, history and traveling and had a special affinity for France and Ireland. Duane loved a good party, especially when he could dance. He was often the last one on the dance floor at any event or occasion. Duane cherished nothing more than to be surrounded by his family for dinners and events, often playing games and telling stories to his young grandchildren. He was always very active and energetic until his last few years. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Sat. Dec. 17, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, One Lourdes Place, MPLS, 55414. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Twin Cities Catholic Charities (designate to Older Adult Services) or American Lung Association.
