Douglas Roseth

Douglas K. Roseth, age 59, of Apple Valley. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and dear friend to many, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 22 after a 16 year courageous battle with M.S. He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Doug was born in NE Mpls, attended Delasalle HS. Joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Vietnam. After returning home, Doug met and married Pat Lorence in 1966. They have fond memories of the the 36 years they had together. They loved and raised two wonderful children and were continually proud of who they had become. Doug's true passions were being in the outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a true salesman. After selling for several different sporting goods companies he eventually started his own company, ``Doug Roseth & Associates.'' He was a success. His family always knew he had business ``savvy'' and he truly found his ``niche.'' Even as a small boy, his mother knew he could sell anything. Doug is preceded in death by his father, Kalmer. He is survived by the most loyal and loving of wifes in Pat; son, Doug (Sara); daughter, Andra (fiance Andy Hentges); he was the proud grandpa to 3 grandsons who adored him, Cody, Chase and Hunter; mother, Mary; sisters, Phyllis, Kathleen Sandford (Raymond), Shirley Swanson; and brother, Donald; sisters-in-law, Kathi Doran (Gerald), Judy Sebeck (George), Terry Ryan (Stu); brothers-in-law, Jim Lorence (Maxine), Pat Barbeau (Janice), Joe Lorence; and many relatives and friends. Special mention to dear friends Norm & Jeanne Anderson. Doug's last 7 years were at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Mpls. The family would like to thank everyone for their continual loving care, kindness, support and patience during his time. Special mention to all the many residents we grew to love as our extended family. Your sense of humor helped us immensely during those trying times. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, 11:15 AM at Minnesota Veterans Home ``Chapel of Peace,'' Minnehaha Ave & 51st Street, Mpls. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Doug will be missed for his honest sense of humor (Tell it like it is) and for his incredible courage, strength and generosity to those who knew him and for those that did, ``We're glad we met ya.''
