Dorothy Beatrice Truax

Dorothy Truax (Dottie Plegge) Age 86, of Minnetonka, passed away June 18, 2025. Preceded in death by her husband, Pete Truax; her parents, Ruby and Ernest Plegge, and her brother, Robert Plegge. Born in Searcy, Arkansas, Dottie moved to Colorado when she was 5 years old and was raised in Golden. One of four on the Golden Demons cheerleading squad, she made many close friends and regularly attended her class reunions until just a few years ago. Dottie met her husband Pete after High School; they married and had three children. She was a beloved wife and mother who naturally became the surrogate mom to her children's friends and many others. Dottie worked part time with Pete's company and loved traveling to trade shows while also volunteering for a myriad of causes and projects both while raising her children and throughout her life. A member of Golden Valley Country Club, Dottie forged lasting friendships. She loved playing golf, playing cards, mentoring new members and throwing marvelous events. Dottie also loved to travel. From playing golf around the States and abroad, to more adventurous trips like the Amalfi Coast, Sicily, Santorini, Rome, the Netherlands and her two favorites - Pompeii and Egypt. She always said if she won the lottery, she'd bring us all to Pompeii for a toga party. Survived by her three children Holly (Dennis) Williams, Peter Truax and Susan Truax; granddaughter Denise (Chip) Fox, grandson Connor (Morgan) Williams, and great grandson Charlie Fox; her sister Fronie Lee; nieces and nephews to whom she was the favorite Aunt, and many, many dear friends. Dottie never wanted her death to be a sad occurrence. Having experienced the other side twice previously, she was aware of what was waiting for her and wanted her family and friends to view her funeral as a true celebration. Dottie knew death is not the end, it's a transition to something new. And while we will all miss her terribly, she is still here and very much alive in all our hearts. Service Tuesday, July 15th, 10am Visitation, 11am Funeral Mass with Celebratory Luncheon to follow. Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 13505 Excelsior Blvd in Minnetonka.
