Dorothy Elaine Bergquist

Dorothy Elaine (Heidelberger) Bergquist passed February 14, 2025 peacefully at the age of 94 years 11 months at The Fountains at Hosanna, 9850 163rd St. West, Lakeville, Minnesota Dorothy's family was a proud Gold Star family. When Dorothy and her husband Jerome of over 77 years, retired they moved to Crosslake, Minnesota on the Whitefish Chain of lakes for several years then to Mesa, Arizona and then finally back to Lakeville, Minnesota where she lived just 8 doors down from Daughter Cherie and Son-in Law John. She took turns with her neighbors hosting the neighborhood Bunko card club and numerous other get-togethers for coffee and fellowship. Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jerome and daughter in-law Diana (Nelson) Bergquist. She preceded in death children son Gary of Brainard, son Donald (Jeannine) of Lakeville, daughters Cherie (John) (Bergquist) Peterson of Clearwater, Florida and Diane (Tim) (Bergquist) Layman of Shakopee, Mn. and 6 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. Besides maintaining a very busy household of 6, she also maintained the family budget. In addition to that Dorothy made the time to nurture close relationships with numerous neighbors and friends. Dorothy was kind hearted and full of life with such positive energy. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to all. Dinner was always on the table at 5PM sharp as their evenings were filled with almost every conceivable activity including Baseball, Softball, Track, Bowling, Football, etc. etc. Dorothy was immaculate in her appearance and approach to everything she did. Each and every day there was a special homemade treat on the counter waiting for each child returning home from school including a fresh bowl of oranges on the kitchen table. Her legacy lives on through her family and the friendships she formed over her lifetime. Dorothy, you will be dearly missed and will forever be in the hearts and minds of every family member, friend and neighbor that you loved over you remarkable lifetime.
