Schyma, Dori M. (Hoheisel) Our beloved Dori passed away Monday, October 10th, 2022. Our hearts are heavy, but we know that she has joined the Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven. She looked forward to reuniting with her loved ones that have passed, especially her son, Todd and her mother, Katie. Dori was born on September 12th, 1942. She grew up in Pierz, MN. After graduating from high school, she attended St. Cloud Beauty College. Dori was a successful businessperson, running several salons in the Anoka area. After she sold her last salon, she leased a station with a local salon and continued to work until the age of seventy-five. She enjoyed visiting with her clients and friends. Dori was united in marriage to Dan Schyma on February 8, 1964. Soon after their son Todd and daughter Sue were born. The family settled in the Anoka / Coon Rapids area. Dori was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church in Anoka. Dori studied to become a Stephens Minister, devoting her time to visiting people in the hospital. Dori was also a member of the Philo Lection Society of Anoka. During her lifetime, she had the opportunity to travel to Germany, Italy, and France. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her book club meetings. Dori had a passion for designing and decorating homes. Each time she finished a house, she talked her husband, Dan, into moving again, so she could design and decorate another home. She had a passion for flower gardening, buying an abundance of flowers every summer to meticulously adorn her yard and deck. Dori's greatest love was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved to spend time gathering for family dinners, just talking, and laughing with everyone. Dori is survived by her husband Dan Schyma, Daughter Sue Jenniges (Myron), Grandson Joshua Schyma (Kasey), Granddaughters Ashley Thurman, (Jeff), Cassiana Thurman, and Great Grandson, Holden Schyma. Brother, Herman Hoheisel and her beloved sister, Arlene Laffin. Dori is preceded in death by her parents Ben and Katie Hoheisel, son, Todd Schyma, brother, Bobby Hoheisel, sister, Mary Lou Przybilla, brother-in-law, Fritz Przybilla, sister-in-law, Karen Hoheisel, and brother-in-law Tom Laffin. Visitation and Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 5th, 2022, at Washburn- McReavy Seman Funeral Chapel, 1827 Coon Rapids Blvd, Coon Rapids, MN. Visitation is from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Funeral service/eulogy will begin at 2:00 pm. Please join the family in a Celebration of Life meal directly after the funeral service at the VFW, 1919, Coon Rapids Blvd, Coon Rapids.
