McMurchie, Doris Joan, age 90 years, 6 months. Doris was Born on March 09, 1934 - Passed away peacefully in her own bed, in her home of 67 years and in her sleep on September 11th, 2024 , she graced our world for 90 years, 6 months and 2 days. Preceded in death by parents John & Muriel Anderson, her loving husband James E. McMurchie, sister Marie & grandson's Josh & Tony. Doris is survived by her 5 children, Katherine (Arnie), Susan (Tom), Daniel, Michael, Lori (Larry). 3 grand-daughters, Tanya (Ryan), Sara (Mark), Stephanie (Mike). 10 great grand-children, Dylan, Gavin, Tyler, Ely, Mabel, Bailey, Luna, Liam, Remi & Hayden. Even though this moment in time leaves us with feelings of sadness for our loss, we're so happy and proud of the life that our Mom / Grandma / Great Grandma led. It was often said that Dori was fiercely independent, this surely seemed true - one of her greatest ambitions in life was to be a mom, "just like her mom"! During Dori's life, she was granted the time needed to - grow and become a beautiful woman, (She was born in 1934 at the mid-point of the Great Depression, their family farm provided for their family). In 1949, "at age 15", she met and fell in love with the man that she shared her life with for 70 years. She became a mom and raised a family. Later in life while enjoying her retirement years, "a few of those years were spent in Florida!", She traveled back to the homelands of her parents and ancestors, "Sweden & Norway", and met her family in Sweden. she enjoyed traveling through the later seasons of her life with her life-long husband, Jimmy! (James E McMurchie passed away on July 03, 2019). Dori also had strong beliefs about where she found God - "She saw God in Nature", she believed in natural healing and that good health and healing came from good food, plenty of hydration, and proper sleep... she also believed in Jesus as her savior, and spoke often about meeting him one day in Heaven - some of her favorite prayers and scriptures included the Serinity Prayer, John 3:16 & the 23rd Psalms. When our family and friends presented a salute 'with drink" at Mom's house, it most often included a toast from Sweden, "Skol pa Fisken"! - followed by - 'May there always be fish in the North Sea"! In life we loved you dearly, In death we love you still, In our hearts you hold a place, No one could ever fill. We will miss her dearly, but she is forever in our hearts
