Donna Lynn Van Dellen

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Donna Lynn Van Dellen. Donna ascended into heaven peacefully on November 17th, 2024, at Methodist Hospital. In her last days, Donna's family and close friends gathered to celebrate her and tearfully say goodbye. Her patience, wisdom, and grace made Donna the best role-model and mother. Donna's talents included sewing, card-making, cooking, and baking. She loved being in the sunshine near lakes, rivers, and oceans. She also enjoyed playing Scrabble, solving Wheel of Fortune puzzles, and watching her children and grandchildren play in a variety of sports. Donna, the daughter of John and Viola Posio, was born on August 5th, 1948. She was the fifth of six children and grew up in Forest Lake, MI. Donna and Fred married on December 20th, 1969, at the chapel on K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Gwinn, MI. Her career in nursing began at Saint Luke's Hospital in Marquette, MI in 1966. She completed her training at Methodist Hospital and was a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery for 40 years. "Epidural Donna" was known for her compassionate care for her patients. She loved the "gals at work" and loved being part of a talented team of nurses. In 2006, she worked in IT on the EPIC program for seven years before she retired. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, John and Viola (Ketola) Posio, sisters Joyce (Mort), Nancy (Reino), Bonnie, and brother Johnnie (Darlene). Donna is survived by her wonderful husband Fred, three daughters Vicki (BJ), Becky (Jason), Wendy (Kelly), son Fred (Dani), and her brother Bruce (Sharon). There are eight grandchildren, Ross (Sara), Isabella, Kaelyn, Claire and Casey, Megan, Adrianna and Ruben, and two great grandchildren, Levi and Ellie. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Methodist Hospital ICU for their support and compassionate care for Donna and her loved ones. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024, at Discover Church in Brooklyn Park. Visitation at 10 am, and service at 11 am, with luncheon to follow. Interment will be held on a later date at Fort Snelling Cemetery for the family. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." - Matthew 5:4
