Donna Katherine Hill (Cregan)

Donna Hill passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on January 30, 2025 at the age of 91. She was a mother to six girls, grandmother to eight children, great-grandmother to nine more, and a friend to many. Donna was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 62 years Conly Sandvig Hill, parents William and Catherine Cregan, sisters Shirley Brusseau, Jean Nord, Marilyn Lipetzky, and Jackie Anderson, and great-grandson Duncan Henry Nettleton. She is survived by her siblings Bill Cregan (Sharon) and Patricia Potesta; daughters Pamela Hill Nettleton, Teri Hill (Jim Larson), Kim MacKenzie (Jack), Jodi Baker (John), Linda Youngquist (Ed), and Michelle Gillies (Bob); grandchildren Gretchen Nettleton (Matthew Williams), Christopher Nettleton (Megan), Ian Anderson (Samm), Maari Williford (Jonathan), Bryan Sonday (Anna), Ryan Baker (Madeline Sivanich), Emma Youngquist (Brandon Berger), and Kipp Youngquist (Riley); great-grandchildren Quinlan and Finley Nettleton, Cora and Ella Palm, Olive and Margaret Sonday, Silas Williford, and Edith and Ophelia Youngquist Berger. Donna took comfort in her Catholic faith and attended church several times a week at the Saint Therese of Oxbow Lake Chapel where she contributed to Mass as a lector. She attended bible studies with friends at Saint Therese and enjoyed reading her daily devotionals. Donna also surrounded herself with a collection of angel figurines and enjoyed gifting them to friends and family. Donna often expressed that the only thing that mattered was love. Her creative outlets included sewing clothes for herself and her young girls, painting portraits, and was ahead of her time in decorating her home with avant garde 70s wallpaper. She was very proud of her career with Health One/Allina where she rose from Administrative Assistant to Physician Services Coordinator, Allina Medical Group Communications Manager, and Managing Editor for the Medical Journal of Allina. With a profound love of word games and puzzles she would start her days early with a crossword calling it her "stolen time." If it wasn't crosswords, she was racking up strikes on her Wii Bowling team, usually winning at Scrabble, calling out the answers to Wheel of Fortune, or engaging in spirited games of Cribbage and Bridge as often as she could. She was proud of her Irish heritage and likely wouldn't mind that her celebration is on St. Patrick's Day. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 17, at St. Gerard Church, 9600 Regent Ave N, Brooklyn Park. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m., Mass at 10:30 a.m., lunch to follow at 11:30 a.m., and interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 2 p.m., 7601 34th Avenue South, Minneapolis.
