Donald E. Tremblay

Tremblay, Donald E. was surrounded by his family and close friends when he passed away September 4, 2013 at the age of 65. Don is survived by his much loved family; wife Irene and their two children, Mark 24, and Michelle 22. Don was born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 24, 1948, to Rita and Bernie Tremblay. He moved to Westfield, NJ as a child. He was best known for his outstanding athletic accomplishments in baseball and basketball and his extraordinary team leadership, something he would carry forward into his business career. Don attended Seton Hall University where he received an undergraduate degree in business and an MBA. He held various executive positions at Xerox where he worked for 34 years before joining Loffler Companies in Bloomington where he has been the Vice President and General Manager for the last 10 years. During his time at Xerox, he moved to Minneapolis where he met Irene, the love of his life and wife of 27 years. The two of them settled in Tonka Bay where they raised their family. Mark is a graduate of The Blake School and Bentley University. Michelle also attended Blake and is a joint-degree student at The University of Notre Dame. She was a member of the Division I Lacrosse team, following in her father's athletic footsteps. The final member of the family is the dog, Nelli, who has been Don's constant companion particularly as he battled cancer over the past two years. Don is also survived by three siblings, Gene Tremblay (Susie) of Boston, Janet Tremblay Pozen (Robert Gray) of Boston, and Ron Tremblay (Cameo Jones) of San Francisco. The four siblings remained close throughout his lifetime. Professionally, he is known for his leadership and mentoring abilities which have earned him the respect and admiration of countless colleagues. He was a gifted speaker and many consider him to be their "best friend" having positively impacted them in both their professional and personal lives. For Don, his family was his heart and soul. His close relationships with his wife and children sustained and nurtured him. Their growth, accomplishments and independence in the world were his greatest source of pride. He was kind and good to the core, always a positive and optimistic force. He touched many lives and will be dearly missed. Visitation Friday (TODAY) 4-7 PM at the Washburn-McReavy Eden Prairie Chapel, 7625 Mitchell Road. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 2 PM with visitation 1 hour prior at St. Therese Catholic Church, 18323 Minnetonka Blvd, Deephaven. Interment Lakewood Cemetery.
