Donald John Dudycha, Jr.

Donald (Don) John Dudycha Jr., age 72, of Savage, Minnesota, passed away at home on April 30, 2025. Born on November 26, 1952, in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, Don was the son of Donald Sr. and Fayadel Dudycha. He worked alongside his father and brothers, Terry and Mike, as an HVAC specialist with Climate Engineering. Don bought the business from his father in the winter of 1989. He and his brother Mike continued the family business until Don sold the company in 1996. He finished his professional career as a building inspector with the City of Minnetonka, where he was known for his dedication and hard work, retiring in November 2011. In 2011, Don suffered a massive stroke, leaving him with aphasia and paralysis on the right side of his body. Despite the challenges of his long and arduous recovery, Don's condition remained with him until the day he passed. During this time, Don found strength in his faith in Jesus and was baptized on June 1, 2014. Don's greatest passions were his wife, family, and love for the outdoors. He treasured his time in God's creation while on the water with his children and grandchildren. Don also enjoyed the wind in his hair-(or lack thereof)-while riding with his wife in her Corvette convertible or on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Don was preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his beloved bride of 49 years, Rosemarie (Overman) Dudycha; his two children, April Schafer (Matt) and Jon Dudycha (Connie); and five grandchildren who were the light of his life-Eric, Allison, Lucas, Daniel, and Charlie. He is also survived by his two brothers, Terry Dudycha and Mike Dudycha; his two sisters, Merry Bruneau and Nancy Roycraft; and many close friends and extended family members. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at River Valley Church in Shakopee, MN. The family finds peace knowing that Don is no longer hindered by the pain of this world. He is in heaven with Jesus, where no one walks with a limp or a swagger. Don's deep love for his family and his reverence for the Lord will live on in every sunrise over the water and every fish story shared among friends.
