Dolores Jean Erdman

Erdman, Dolores J. We bid farewell to Dolores Jean (Jukua) Erdman, a sweet cousin and faithful friend. Her spirit departed from this world on October 4, 2024, at the Age of 87 leaving behind a legacy of kindness. Dolores walked through life with gentle strength, touching the lives of everyone she met with grace. She was an advocate for her Church, dedicating her time to her faith, taking care of her handicapped husband, and making this world a brighter place. She loved and found beauty in life's simple moments and encouraged us to do the same. In lieu of flowers, make contributions to the Laestadian Lutheran Church, a cause deeply important to Dolores. Please join us in celebrating Dolores' life. Dolores was born at the University Hospital in Minneapolis on February 21, 1937, to her Mother Tillie Jukua. Dolores' amazing Aunt Hilda (Jukua) and husband Arthur Nyman raise her on their farm outside of Wolf Lake, MN., where she went to Country School District 75. Upon the death of her uncle Arthur in 1942, Aunt Hilda and Dolores moved to a home in Menahga, MN. in 1947 where she continued school and graduated with the Menahga High School class of 1956. Dolores worked in the office for the Northrup King seed corn factory and in 1986 did business training to be a nurse's aide for Home Care. On December 3. 1960 Dolores married the love of her life Fredrick Joseph Erdman in Minneapolis. Dolores and Fred loved to travel and visited different areas together, the Dakota's, Minnesota, and Yellowstone National Park. Aunt Hilda would go with them on their travels visiting friends and family. Dolores favorite trip was going to Finland in 1982 with her mom Tillie, Aunt Hilda, and Thelma, visiting their relative's. After her Aunt Hilda's death in August 1991, then her mom's death in February 2002 and her husband Fred's death July 2008, spending long winters alone, Dolores went to Florida to visit her brother-in-law Tony whom she enjoyed, for the last few years to take a break from the cold Minnesota winters and enjoyed some warm Florida weather. Survivors include a host of cousins and friends. Blessed be the memory of our dear cousin Dolores Jean Erdman. Arrangements were made with Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services Memorial service 11:00am Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Laestadian Lutheran Church (13030 47th Ave, N., Plymouth, MN 55442). Visitation one hour prior to service. Private interment Sunset Cemetery, Minneapolis. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to Laestadian Lutheran Church.
