Diane Marie Burr

Diane Burr, age 65, of Eden Prairie, MN, passed away on January 29, 2022 from natural causes. Diane was born in Minneapolis, July 22, 1956, and was a 1974 graduate of Richfield High School. She attended Dakota County Technical College, where she received her degree in Interior Design. Diane worked for over 30 years as a Sales and Design Consultant for Daytons/Marshall Fields/Macys Home Store in Edina. Diane was spirited, spontaneous, energetic, kind and compassionate. She had a gentle, giving heart. She was a loving and caring daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend but, above all, the most passionate animal lover you would ever know! Diane was actively involved with animal rescue, rehoming and fostering and she provided a safe and loving home for numerous strays that found their way to her throughout her life. Diane, also, loved cooking and gardening. Her family will miss her creative contributions to our holiday dinners. Her neighbors will miss seeing her busy in her yard, making it look beautiful for everyone in the area. Family and friends were extremely important to Diane. She was the best mom ever to Molly, Tinker, Precious, Willy, Moo Moo and Squirt and to all of the other fur babies that preceded them. Family always came first and she was often the catalyst that brought friends together. Diane gave generously of her time and talents and valued her relationships with her Macy's and Richfield friends (especially the Richfield Golden Girls and Calendar Girls), Berea Lutheran Church, and various animal related organizations. Diane was always full of life and she loved to laugh and play. She had an upbeat personality and always had a smile to share. Several of her friends sum up her life beautifully: "She was a sweet soul....not just to animals, but to us humans, too" and "If there are animals in heaven, she is having a fantastic time." Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Roland Burr and Laura (Schalow) Burr. Survived by sister and brothers, Karen Burr (Tony Tigges), Paul Burr (Cindy) and Jim Burr, nephew, Kelsey (Erin) Tigges, nieces, Stacey (Ryan) Lindeman and Natalie (Bryce) Uitermarkt, and great nephews Caleb, Noah and Trevor Tigges and Camren Lindeman. The meows and barking being heard are from the many cats and dogs Diane cared for throughout her life and those she, sadly, has left behind. We are in the process of rehoming Diane's beloved animals. Please reach out if you have space in your lives to share with one of her dogs or cats. By Diane's request, a private family service will be held.
