Dennis and Sharon Koehntopp

Koehntopp, Dennis and Sharon Dennis (Denny) and Sharon (Sherri) Koehntopp have been called home to be with their heavenly father. Denny passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from a rare cancer called cholangiocarcinoma and Sherri passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Denny and Sherri were able to spend their final days together, at home, surrounded by family and friends. Denny was born in Huron S.D. February 25, 1942, attending Huron High School. After graduating from Huron College Denny and Sherri moved to the Twin Cities. Sherri was born in Mitchell, S.D. October 21, 1942, attending Mitchell High School. After high school Sherri attended cosmetology school in Sioux Falls and went on to work 47 years as a cosmetologist. Denny worked 34 years as an accountant for Unisys Corporation and ended his career as an accountant with the City of Minneapolis. Denny served in the Army National Guard with the 153rd Engineers based in Huron, S.D. He was also a member of the Roseville Volunteer Fire Department for 24 years as well as a member of the Rosetown American Legion Post 542. Denny and Sherri were married September 1, 1963. Together they had two daughters Jen Wenzel and Nikki Domine. They have 5 grandchildren: Dylan, Dalton, Emma, Alayna, Aubrey and step-grandson Evan. Denny is survived by his brother Jim Koehntopp and family of Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Sherri is survived by her brother Doug Pierson and family of Yale, S.D. Denny and Sherri were both active volunteers. As 50 year members of Roseville Lutheran Church, they made many lifelong friends while sharing their time and talents. Sherri was an active volunteer in her local community her entire life. Denny enjoyed his time volunteering for the TPC 3M Golf Tournament. Denny and Sherri will be dearly missed by their family and friends. Their dedication, passion, and love for family and community cannot be replaced. Visitation 4-6:00 PM Sunday, March 20th at Holcomb-Henry-Boom-Purcell Funeral Home, 515 Hwy 96 W. at Mackubin in Shoreview. Funeral service 11:00 AM Monday, March 21, 2022, (visitation 10-11:00 AM) at the Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to a reception following the service at the Funeral Home.
