Deloris Marie Selland

Deloris (Bode) Selland August 20, 1935 - March 2, 2025 Deloris M. Selland went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2025. She passed away at Covenant Living, Golden Valley, MN from complications caused by a stroke. Her family members were by her side. Deloris was born at Pillsbury, ND to Walter and Leeta (Davis) Bode on August 20, 1935. She married Bryan Selland on June 7, 1970 at Calvary Baptist Church, Fargo, ND. Deloris resided at Lakeville, MN for over 25 years with her husband, Bryan. When Bryan passed away in 2012, Deloris moved to Covenant Living in 2018. Deloris graduated from high school at Valley City, ND and was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. at Valley City then moved to Fargo where she continued her employment with NWB. Deloris and Bryan moved to Lakeville MN where she earned an undergraduate degree in psychology and counseling at Northwestern and a master's degree at Bethel University. She was employed as a counselor and psychologist in Lakeville where she specialized in eating disorders and trauma. Deloris was a vibrant and compassionate individual who drew close to people with whom she met, which was attributed to her strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She and Bryan were members of Wooddale Church, Edina, MN where they cherished the fellowship and friendship of many through numerous church-related activities. Her faith in Christ never wavered as her desire was to honor, obey, and glorify the Lord in all aspects of her life. She prayed for and provided financial support for impoverished children from other countries through Compassion International. Bryan and Deloris had no biological children, but were blessed to nurture and mentor a dear friend, Traci, who is also a successful counselor. Both Deloris and Bryan were adamant about raising house cats and enjoyed the partial fulfillment that cats provided. She was able to carry on verbal conversations with cats as if they were best of friends, a trait that many people likely would not understand. Deloris is preceded in death by her husband, Bryan; parents, Walter and Leeta Bode; nephew, Thad Holen, niece, Gretchen Hareland, and nephew, Rollin Bode. She is survived by David Bode, Hazel (Gary) Hareland, Glenn (Pat) Bode, Arvid (Darlyne) Bode, and Ruth Bode; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 6630 Shady Oak Rd., Eden Prairie, MN 55344 on Wednesday April 10, 2025 at 11:00am and lunch at 12:00.
