Debra Remme

Debra Ann (Bakken) Remme September 3, 1954 - October 5, 2024 Debbie Remme passed away on October 5, 2024. Debbie and Jeff got married on March 1, 1975, just shy of celebrating 50 years together. Jeff and Debbie have been life long residents in Bloomington where they raised 3 wonderful girls. Debbie was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and second mom to many. Debbie's heart was happiest being with her daughters and grandchildren, watching all the kids do what they love from sports and dance, to fishing. Every summer Debbie could be found on Farm Island Lake, her happy place. Jeff and Debbie have been going up there since 1986 and have many lifelong friends from the resort. She is known for teaching the girls, their friends, and many grandchildren how to fish - a skill she learned at a young age from her dad. She could also be found pulling kids skiinig and tubing around the lake. She was most known up there for continuing the legacy of the Farm Island Classic fishing contest and the Bradley Board Contest. Debbie's lifelong career was doing daycare for hundreds of kids, including her own grandchildren. Many kids have reached out throughout the years with stories of how vital she was in their childhood. Debbie leaves behind her loving husband Jeff, daughters Heather (Sean), Alicia (Josh), Jamie (Kevin), grandchildren Dylan, Kayla, Austin, Logan, Connor, Brenna, Colton, Nora & Keagan. Brothers Pete (Cathy) & Doug, step sister Christine and step brothers Curtis & Craig, brother-in-laws Curt (Vicki), Dean and Jon (Lisa), sister-in-law Sue, and many neices & nephews. All the children that attended her home daycare for over 40 years. Debbie is preceded in death by her parents Kenneth Bakken, Shirley (Zachor) Bakken, step mother Vivian (Kadlec) Bakken, brother Steven Bakken and step brothers Chuck and Chester Kadlec, in-laws Dale and Beverly Remme, brother-in-law Doug Remme and nephews Shawn and Jason Remme. Visitation and service will be held at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel in Bloomington 2300 W Old Shakopee Rd. on Sunday October 13, 2024. Visitation from 1:00-2:00. Service at 2:00. A gathering and light lunch will be provided at Jamie and Kevin's home in Prior Lake following the service.
