David Wallace Ostlund

David Wallace Ostlund, 82, of Nisswa, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 30, 1943, David lived a life defined by service, education, adventure, and an unwavering devotion to his family. A graduate of Anoka High School, class of 1961 and a proud graduate of The University of Minnesota. His commitment to lifelong learning led him to pursue postgraduate studies at both Stanford University and the London School of Economics. David honorably served his country in the United States Army as a member of the Army Security Agency. His military service reflected the discipline, patriotism, and quiet strength that would characterize him throughout his life. In 1965, David married the love of his life, Coralee Bunker. Together they shared more than 61 years of marriage, building a life centered on family, friendship, and countless treasured memories. Their enduring partnership stood as an inspiration to all who know them. Dave was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman who found great joy in nature. Whether on the water, in the woods, or on the golf course, he loved to share stories when surrounded by family and friends. He enjoyed decades of mediocre golf, spending most of his time in the ruff, but shared his love of the game with numerous friends. For many years, Dave and Coralee enjoyed their homes on Lake Hubert near Nisswa, Minnesota, where they created countless memories with family and friends and their winter home in Scottsdale, Arizona. Above all else, Dave was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was the kind of father every son hopes to have, offering wisdom, support, encouragement, and unconditional love throughout their lives. His greatest pride was his family. David is survived by his loving wife, Coralee (Bunker) Ostlund; three sons, Paul (Joleen) Ostlund of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Eric (Aoi) Ostlund of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Brian (Crystal) Ostlund of The Woodlands, Texas; his 5 grandchildren, Samuel, Hayden, Henry, Oscar, and Gisele, and sister Karen Taylor, all of whom brought tremendous joy to his life. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved four-legged pal, Griff, whose faithful companionship brought him years of happiness. David will be remembered for his intelligence, integrity, sense of humor, love of the outdoors, and unwavering commitment to his family. His legacy lives on in the lives of those he touched, the values he instilled, and the memories that will be treasured forever. A celebration of life will be arranged in September in the Nisswa, MN area.
