David Moore

Moore, David Donald age 63, of Waconia, Minnesota, formerly of Denver, Colorado. David was born to Donald and Dorothy Moore on January 17, 1945 in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. He was the oldest of six children. He graduated from St. Cloud Cathedral High School in 1963 and later received his BA from Metropolitan State University. In high school, he met Susan Alexander, his lifelong love. They were married on September 10, 1966. They moved to Minneapolis and raised their children, Amy and Tom. Dave and Susan were blessed with 42 years of marriage. He was a loving husband and proud Dad. In 1968, he began his forty year career in the business of Major League Baseball. He spent 24 years with the Minnesota Twins, culminating as a Vice President. In 1993, he and Susan moved west where he joined the Colorado Rockies as the Director of Coors Field Administration and Development. His career in Baseball was marked with many exciting moments. He was the All-Star Game Coordinator in 1985 and 1998 and the Post- Season Coordinator for the 1987, 1991 and 2007 World Series. He loved the game, he loved its history and he loved the people who proudly call themselves baseball's family. Through his involvement in the community he was able to share his many talents and gifts. The organizations he was proud to serve included: Past President, Board of Lodo District, Inc.; Board Member, Ballpark Neighborhood Association; Sports and Entertainment Representative, Union Station Advisory Committee; Developer Advisory Committee for Denver Union Station; Appointed by Governor Bill Owens to Colorado's Work Force Development Council; Board Member, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Minnesota; a Founding Board Member, Twin Cities Tourism and Attractions; School Board President, South Parks Catholic School. Through baseball and his community activities, he met many wonderful people he was proud to call his friends. With them, he freely shared his friendship, mentoring and heart; he had a lasting impression on those he touched. David loved the outdoors. From a very young age, his favorite times were hunting and fishing with his family. The woods and the lakes were his first home. It was there that he found his peace. And, it was from the woods, where he hunted since his youth, that God called him home on November 8, 2008. David was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy; his brother, Richard and his mother-in-law, Genevieve Alexander. He is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter, Amy Haben (John); son, Tom; 2 grandsons, Jack and Will Haben; his father, Donald; brothers, Terrence (Lynn), Stephen (Debbie); sisters, Barbara Loewen (Ronald), Michelle Rademacher (Paul); many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorials to the Heart Association. Mass of Christian Burial St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2914 W. 44th St., Mpls, Wednesday at 11 AM with visitation 1 hour prior.
