D'Ann Cameron Ranheim

Ranheim, D'Ann "Dee" Cameron 83, was born on August 23, 1938, in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of John and Catherine Cameron. On September 6, 1957, she was married to James (Jim) Ranheim for over 41 years before his death in 1999. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company prior to becoming a full-time Homemaker raising their five children. Dee passed away peacefully on December 25, 2021, under the compassionate care she received from her family, as well as her doctors, nurses, and aides at Methodist Hospital. Dee's deep faith called her to be a highly active member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd since 1957, serving on numerous boards and committees including her favorite the Board of Worship, Music, & the Arts. She was an early member trained in Stephen Ministries providing care to people in the congregation and the community experiencing crisis or life difficulties. She also participated in the Altar Guild, Prayer Chain, Christian Service Circle, and taught Sunday School. On countless occasions she provided flower arrangements for funerals, weddings, services, and even made quite a few banners for the church sanctuary. Dee spent numerous years working for Durr Limited as a floral designer. She also worked for The Picket Fence in sales and teaching needlepoint classes. Her grandchildren, flowers, and needlepoint were her passion throughout her retirement years. Dee volunteered countless hours for the Northwest Airlines Pilots' Wives and American Heart Associations as well as the Jefferson High School Band, Hockey, and Soccer Booster Programs. She also donated pint after pint of blood for the American Red Cross. Dee was blessed to spend over 20 years with her dear friend and companion, Chester (Chet) Karnowski, before his death in April of 2021. Dee and Chet shared their love for music, the arts, food, entertaining, and travel. Dee is survived by her daughter, Catherine (Jeff); sons, John (Annette), Richard (Stephanie), Daniel (Margareth), and James (Suanne); grandchildren, Jason, Colton, Meggie (Paul), Thomas (Lauren), Shawn, Michaela, Jacob, and Mya; and her stepsister Vicki Cameron Lavens of Gilbert, Arizona. Chet is survived by his son Steve (Jeanne) and daughter Karen. A Visitation will be held beginning at 9:30 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. with a lunch to follow on January 7, 2022, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, located at 4801 France Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
