Cornelius (Corny) Lucas

Lucas Cornelius H. (Corny) Lucas, 9/24/16 - 3/2/05. Preceded in death by parents, Cornelius J. and Ann Lucas; brother, Harry; and sister, LaVerne. Corny attended the University of Minnesota and received his Certificate in Accounting from I.A.S., Chicago, IL. He has held numerous positions in large business establishments in the Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota area such as, Controller, Secretary, Treasurer, General Manager and Vice President. Lucas served as Director or Officer in various organizations: Controller's Institute, Financial Executive Institute, Nation Association Taxation Task Force, Minneapolis Traffic Association - a division of the Chamber of Commerce, National Institute of Credit, United Way, Junior Achievement, and the Knights of Columbus. In 1961 he received the Distinguished Service Award from the Greater Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce. In 1976 Corny moved to Texas to serve as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of a newly organized pacemaker company. There he was extremely active in the March of Dimes and in 1978 became the Executive Board Chairman for the Lone Star Chapter of Texas. Corny became a resident of Texas, yet returned to Minneapolis each year to spend his summers. Cornelius, and wife of 63 years, Minnie (Carmella Maria Cremisino), have four children: Roger C. Lucas, PhD of North Oaks, MN (wife Mary Ann); Richard H. Lucas PhD of Houston, Texas (wife Sherry); Thomas J. Lucas LLD, of Redondo Beach, CA (wife Teri); and daughter, Kathleen A. Godar of Blaine, MN. Corny is survived by nine grandchildren, Bradley (wife Jennifer), Brian (wife Roberta), Brent, Courtney, Wade (wife Angelia), Daiquiri, Derek, Michael (wife Mary Jo) and Melissa (husband Kip); and five great-granddaughters, Sterling, Breanna and Wylie Lucas, Jessica and Julie Godar; brother-in-law, Henry Cremisino; and sister-in-law, Laura Cremisino. Memorials preferred to your favorite charity. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 10:00 AM, Church of St. Charles Borromeo, St. Anthony Parkway & Stinson Blvd. NE. Entombment Sunset.
