Colleen Marie Cosgrove-Goodman

Colleen Cosgrove-Goodman died peacefully in her home in Minnesota on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026, holding her daughter's hand. She had a big and generous heart, helped others see the good in themselves, and always had your back. She will be missed by friends and family in her homes of St. Louis, Chicago, and Minneapolis. Born in 1947 to James and Marie Cosgrove, Colleen grew up on Gurney Avenue with her 2 siblings, John and Mary. She graduated from Cor Jesu Academy, then attended Fontbonne University, and later received her Master's in Education from UMSL. She had a fulfilling career in Special Education for the City of St. Louis. She married Greg Goodman in 1980 at the College Church, welcoming her daughter Megan in 1985 and raising her (and many dogs) on West Lockwood in Webster Groves. She was the proud "Aunt Col" to many nieces and nephews: Nathan & Brennan (sons of Greg's sister Patricia), Jeanene & Michele (daughters of Greg's brother Rick and wife Dorothy), Joe, Pete, Ted, and Tom (son's of her brother John and wife Maggie), and James, Pete, & Tim (sons of her sister Mary and husband Bob). After retiring, she moved to Chicago to support her sister Mary and her family during Mary's battle with Mesothelioma. Living in the same neighborhood brought Colleen and Mary, her husband Bob, and their three boys as close as ever. When her daughter announced her first pregnancy, Colleen and Greg moved up to Minnesota to get ready for her new role as "Gramma". She cared for her 3 grandchildren for the rest of her life, spending significant time with them as infants, providing daily care. She lived just 2 miles away, hosting many holidays, dinners, and sleepovers. She loved them fiercely. Colleen is survived by her brother John, her daughter Megan (Joey) Kerber, and her grandchildren Louie, Addie, and Sophie, who all miss her dearly. The Minnesota Memorial Service will be held at Washburn-McReavy in Hopkins on May 31st, 3:30-4 Visitation, 4-5 Service, 5-7 Gathering across the street at Bear Cave Brewing. The St. Louis Celebration of Life will be held at Pat Connolly's on Oakland on June 13th, 3:30-7.
