Christopher Mark Hauseman

Christopher "Chris" Hauseman, 61, passed away unexpectedly on July 17, 2026. Born on May 15, 1965, Chris lived a life filled with creativity, curiosity, compassion, and quiet authenticity. A visual artist by both education and passion, he created installations throughout the Twin Cities that reflected his unique perspective and artistic vision. Whether through his art or the way he lived, Chris saw beauty where others might not, viewing the world through the vibrant colors of a kaleidoscope. Chris was a dedicated employee of Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railroad, where he was respected for his hard work and commitment. Outside of work, he was an avid reader with an insatiable curiosity. He delighted in collecting comic books, graphic novels, and unusual treasures, often spending hours browsing comic book stores in search of hidden gems. His love of learning, storytelling, numerous concerts and the wonderfully unexpected made every conversation with him memorable. Chris had an extraordinary love for animals and found joy in their companionship. Above all else, he loved his wife, Melody, with his whole heart. Their bond was built on love, laughter, mutual respect, and a deep appreciation for one another. To know Chris was to know someone unlike anyone else. He embraced life with originality, kindness, wit, and imagination. He never fit neatly into a mold-and that was exactly what made him so remarkable. When God made Chris, He truly broke the mold. Chris is lovingly survived by his wife, Melody Mendis; his sister, Rebecca Dorosch; his nephew, Nicholas Dorosch; his niece, Emily Dorosch; along with many beloved aunts, cousins, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Suzanne Hauseman; his brother-in-law; Jim Dorosch, his grandparents, Carl and Margaret Hauseman; his parents-in-law, John and Shirley Mendis; and many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins. The funeral will be on Friday, August 7th, 2026 Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 13505 Excelsior Boulevard, Minnetonka, Minnesota 55345. Visitation: 10:00-11:00am Mass: 11:00am-12:00pm Lunch will follow in the Fireside Room Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Chris's remarkable life and to share in the memories of a man whose creativity, compassion, and singular spirit will never be forgotten. Though his earthly journey has ended, Chris's art, his kindness, his love for animals, and the countless lives he touched remain as his enduring legacy. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
