Christine Kellogg Peterson July 14, 1935 - May 6, 2023 A loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend to so many. Christine Kellogg Peterson of Arden Hills, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2023, surrounded with love and gentle care from her family. Christine was born on July 14, 1935, in St. Paul, Minnesota to her parents Joseph and Serine Kellogg. A graduate of Central High School who went on to attend the University of Minnesota graduating with a BSN in Nursing. Christine started nursing as a staff nurse in the Nursery and Labor Unit at Miller Hospital in St Paul. Christine then went on to open the Peterson Agency- MSI Insurance, where she spent hours socializing with her clients. She served as planning commissioner and human rights commissioner for the City of Arden Hills as well as serving politically as Legislative District Chairwoman, State Convention Delegate, Congressional District Delegate, Resolution Committee and Precinct Chairwoman. Christine is preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Peterson, parents Serine and Joseph Kellogg, brothers Martin Kellogg and Joseph Kellogg, and sister Hildrud Jenkins. Christine is survived by her Children Lisa Peterson, Erik Peterson and Jon Peterson (Jane), and 5 loving grandsons Sam, Jake, Jack, Luke, and Will Peterson. She loved helping others and was a shining example of kindness and compassion. She had a passion for gardening and enjoyed spending time outside caring for several gardens throughout her yard. Christine also had a great passion for cooking and entertaining, sometimes staying up late into the night preparing gourmet meals for friends and family. She enjoyed fishing with her children, which resulted in hosting several neighborhood fish fry's. Chris also looked forward to gathering with friends for some friendly, yet competitive, games of penny poker. She had a love for dogs especially her last dog of 15 years Sweetie. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church for over 50 years where she established many long-term relationships. Chris was never known for her punctuality, but she was definitely worth the wait. She was so very loved by all who had the pleasure of being in her company, and she will be so very missed. Christine would always end an evening with her well known Norwegian phrase: "Mange Tusen Takk" - Many Thousand Thanks!! A Celebration of Christine's life will take place Friday, June 16 at St Christopher's Episcopal Church, Roseville MN. With a visitation 10-11 am followed by a funeral service at 11 am. A private family burial is planned. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested a memorial contribution to the Alzheimer's Association.
